These terms (the "Terms") govern your use of any Saneops binary, container image, or installer (the "Software") that you install, configure, or run on infrastructure controlled by you or your organization.
By installing, copying, or running the Software you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not install or use the Software.
If you instead use the Saneops hosted service at any URL ending in
.saneops.com (or successor domains), the separate Master
Subscription Agreement signed at sign-up applies — these Self-Hosted
Terms do not.
1. License
Subject to your continued compliance with these Terms and your timely payment of any applicable fees, [Your Company Name] ("we", "us") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and run the Software solely for your internal business operations.
You may NOT:
- redistribute the Software in any form;
- offer the Software (or any feature of it) to third parties as a hosted, managed, embedded, or "as-a-service" offering;
- create derivative works;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble (except as expressly permitted by mandatory local law);
- remove or alter any proprietary notice;
- use the Software to develop a competing product;
- exceed the limits of your subscription tier (alerts ingested per month, tenant count, etc.).
2. Subscription tiers
Self-hosted use of Saneops is offered under tiered subscriptions. The applicable tier is determined by the license key you install. Without a valid key, the Software runs in a Free tier with usage caps documented in our pricing page.
Exceeding the limits of your tier may result in feature gating or, after a notification grace period, in the Software refusing to ingest further events until the tier is upgraded or usage normalizes.
3. Updates and support
Customers on paid tiers receive bug fixes and security updates for the duration of their subscription. Major version upgrades may require a new agreement.
We provide support according to the SLA in your subscription tier. Free tier users are encouraged to use community channels (when available); we make no commitment to respond to free-tier requests.
4. Telemetry
The Software may, by default, send anonymized operational metrics
(version, alert volume bucket, error counts) to us so we can improve
the product. You may disable this telemetry by setting
SANEOPS_TELEMETRY=disabled in your environment.
We do NOT collect alert payload contents, customer data, or PII.
5. Confidentiality
The Software contains trade secrets. You agree to use commercially reasonable measures to protect it from unauthorized access or disclosure, and to limit internal access to personnel with a clear need-to-know.
6. Term and termination
These Terms apply for as long as you have a valid subscription. We may terminate immediately on material breach (including non-payment, license violation, or competitive use). On termination you must stop using the Software and delete all copies within 30 days.
7. Warranties and liability
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD IS CAPPED AT THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE FEES PAID BY YOU IN THAT PERIOD.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Country / State]. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in [Your City], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Owner note: these Terms are a starting draft. Have a qualified attorney review them for your jurisdiction (especially Sections 7 and 8) before relying on them in customer agreements. Consider a separate clickwrap MSA for paid customers.
